Why Shravan Maas matters

Shravan is when the devas churned the ocean; Shiva drank the halahala poison to save creation — so the month is dedicated to his worship.

Each Shravan Monday (Somvar) is observed with fasting, Rudrabhishekam and Rudra Puja.
