श्रावण मास

Shravan Maas

The Holy Month of Shiva

🗓 Shravan · July–August

The holiest month in the Vedic calendar for worship of Lord Shiva. Every Monday (Shravan Somvar) and through the month, VDS conducts samoohik and personal Shravan Masa Rudra Pujas across cities — join one near you or offer one for your family.

Shravan Maas

The Significance

Why Shravan Maas matters

  • 01

Shravan is when the devas churned the ocean; Shiva drank the halahala poison to save creation — so the month is dedicated to his worship.

  • 02

Each Shravan Monday (Somvar) is observed with fasting, Rudrabhishekam and Rudra Puja.

  • 03

Offering Rudra Puja through Shravan is believed to bring health, harmony and the fulfilment of sankalpas.
